Dreamality Open Fields
The postcard of the demo — and why the best screenshot in the game is just the beginning.
The open fields are Dreamality at its most inviting. Grass, trees, a glass building in the distance, oversaturated color, and the feeling that this might be a cozy game after all. It is not. The fields are the setup for the rest of the demo: a bright half of a dream that will get harder to leave than to enter.
This guide covers what to notice, what to interact with, and why the fields are C-tier on difficulty and S-tier on first impression.
What the fields are
The daylight half of the dream. The straw-hat companion energy lives here. The glass building is a landmark you walk toward without entering. The grass is bright enough that players screenshot it — which is why it is the hero image on this wiki’s home page.
This is not a safe space in the narrative sense. The demo wants you comfortable here before the school. Frutiger Studios is using Frutiger-Aero aesthetics to build trust, then withdrawing it in the halls.
What to do in the fields
- Walk the perimeter. The badge is a visit award; you do not need to find every prop.
- Look at the glass building. It is a visual anchor, not an enterable structure.
- Talk to the companion if a prompt exists. She is the tone sample for “kind dream.”
- Screenshot if you want. The light in this area is intentional.
- Drop graphics only if the fog in later areas needs your frame rate.
The open fields badge
Awarded for visiting. It fires on the story spine for almost everyone who walks out of the apartment fade and into the bright. If it does not fire, you may have clipped a loading fade — keep walking.
The badge text is just the name. There is no hidden achievement for staying longer.
Shards in the fields
Walk the fence lines and the base of the glass building. A shard glint here is easy to walk past — the highlight is polite, not aggressive. Rotate the camera, especially on mobile, where the interact billboard can hide behind your R6 head.
If you are one shard short after the park, the fields are the first place to re-sweep. Details: how to get shards.
Open fields and the tier list
C-tier on the area tier list. Low wipe rate, no stealth, no time pressure. The contrast is the point: this is the screenshot the wiki uses, and it is also the warmup before the school.
If you only take one thing from this page: the glass building is visible from everywhere in this zone. If you ever feel lost in the demo, find the glass. You are still in the fields.
After the fields
The path opens to nihility lands — the fog half of the demo. When the color drops and the landmarks thin, that is intentional. The fields were the daylight; the nihility lands are what the dream looks like when it stops pretending to be kind.
Do not noclip back to the fields. The fade is one direction. Walk into the fog on purpose.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Dreamality demo players.
How do I get the open fields badge?
Visit the area. It is a visit award on the story spine. Walk the perimeter and it should fire automatically.
Is there a shard in the open fields?
Yes. Walk the fence lines and near the glass building. Rotate the camera on mobile so the interact prompt is visible.
Can I go back to the fields after nihility lands?
The loading fade is one direction. You can return to fields from the park area, but not directly from nihility lands.
Why does the glass building never get closer?
It is a visual anchor, not an enterable structure. The demo uses it to keep orientation in the bright half of the dream.
